AADS 2200 - Decolonial Studies The history of colonialism is that of an imposition of power structures at various levels economic, political, racial and gender based. This course will integrate history, linguistics, fine arts, and the social sciences in an interdisciplinary understanding of the legacies of the colonialism/neocolonialism, capitalism, slavery, and the interconnected circuits of power on Black experience and marginality globally. Students will explore the matrix of colonial power of millions of people globally to uncover the legacies of subjection and oppression still presently occurring.
