PHSC 3810 - Pharmacy Biochemistry/Molecular Biology Presents an integration of the biochemistry and molecular biology of cellular interactions. Molecular biology topics include molecular aspects of gene structure and function, DNA damage, and repair, replication, transcription, control of gene expression, translation and post-translational processing. Protein-related topics include protein structure-function, protein folding, enzyme kinetics, and the study of metabolic processes, pathways, and their regulation. Membrane associated energetics, mechanisms of signal transduction, blood coagulation and fibrinolysis, and the enzymology of drug metabolism are also covered. Prerequisite: Admission to the Xavier University College of Pharmacy (4, Fa)
