WMST 3400 - Dimensions in Women’s Health

This is an elective course in the study of women’s health in the United States. It focuses on factors affecting women’s health and the methodological issues in research about women’s health across political, economic and socio-cultural lines. The course will review areas such as the Epidemiology of Women’s Health, Health Promotion and Morbidity Prevention; Sexual Health across the life span, and the psychological and psychosocial conditions of women’s health. Students will learn to evaluate the role of medical personnel in decreasing these problems while optimizing health related quality of life (QOL) issues. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 1100 /BIOL 1100L  or BIOL 1230 . (3, EXPLORATIONS/Human Behavior)
