PHLT 5010 - Environmental Health and Toxicological Issues This course provides an introduction to environmental (physical, chemical, biological) determinants that influence human health and means of controlling these determinants on the national and international level. Students examine basic concepts of toxicology as they apply to the effects of environmental agents, e.g. chemicals, metals, on public health. Students focus on the application of these concepts in understanding and prevention of morbidity and mortality resulting from environmental exposures to toxic substances through a case study format.
