Genetic Counseling, M.S.

The Master of Science in Genetic Counseling is an intensive and interdisciplinary 58-credit program that spans five semesters. The curriculum includes 27 credits of graduate-level coursework at Xavier University of Louisiana in clinical and medical genetics, genetic counseling, counseling techniques, research methodology, social and cultural diversity, and genetic testing; 21 credits in experiential activity (fieldwork rotations), completed primarily at Ochsner Medical Center locations in the New Orleans area; and an additional 8 credit hours of seminars and research activity.
