AADS 2015 - Black Men’s Studies in the U.S. Context This course is designed to introduce students to the study of Black men in the U.S. Context. Students will critically analyze various aspects of Black male life including, gender, manhood, masculinities, relationships, black male culture, black male identity, black men in family and community, education, politics, economics, health, and justice. This course will encourage students to think critically and expansively about the social role of black males and their humanity. Black men studies in the U.S. will provide a foundation for students to explore black male philosophies, issues, and remedies, thereby developing the necessary analytical tools and information to address historical and contemporary issues relevant to students’ present-day lives.
