PSYC 4050 - Drugs and BehaviorNSCI 4050 Introduces students to the basics of drug administration, absorption, metabolism, and excretion, as well as how drugs act at neuronal synapses to cause changes in neuronal function. The connection is then made from these neuronal functional changes to broader behavioral changes associated with various legal, illegal, and prescription psychoactive drugs. Also examines the use of antidepressants, antipsychotics, and other drug therapies for the treatment of psychopathologies. PSYC 3050 recommended before taking. Prerequisites: PSYC 1010 , PSYC 2020 , and PSYC 2512 or permission of the instructor and the department head. (3)
