PHYS 4050 - Quantum Physics Usually offered spring semester. The concepts and the mathematical methods of quantum mechanics. Topics include Schrodinger’s equation in time-dependent and time-independent forms; one- and three-dimensional solutions including the treatment of angular momentum and spin. Applications to simple systems such as the hydrogen atom, simple harmonic oscillator, and periodic potentials. Prerequisite: PHYS 3050 (3, Sp)
