JAZZ 3450 - Jazz Theory II (Composition and Arranging) Large Ensemble This course is designed to introduce theoretical concepts as they apply to Jazz composition and arranging. Emphasis will focus on melodic/harmonic construction, form analysis and design, and creative composition as it applies to the large Jazz ensemble or orchestra. Standard Jazz compositions will be used as examples to examine form, melody, harmony, rhythm and creative writing. Prerequisite(s): A grade of a B or better is required in MUST 1030 , MUST 1030L , MUST 1040 , MUST 1040L , MUST 2030 , MUST 2030L , MUST 2040 , and MUST 2040L . (3)
