AADS 4020 - Afro Hispanic Studies(ALCS 4020 ) This course is a panoramic survey of Afro-Hispanic history and literature from early Peninsular and Latin American writings through their transformation and development into a corpus of literary works throughout Latin America. The course is open to all upper-level students who are interested in acquiring in-depth knowledge of the international African Diaspora presence in the Spanish-speaking areas of the New World. The language of instruction is English; students who have a high level of proficiency in Spanish will read the required texts in that language. (3)
