HIST 1500 - Women in World History(WMST 1500 ) This course provides an overview of the history of women in world civilizations with an emphasis on both the lived experiences of women in a wide range of different cultural contexts, as well as the construct of gender - that is, how both men and women behave in society. We will seek to understand how ideas of gender - and women specifically - have affected the construct of institutions as varied as government, religion, race and class. Prerequisites: None (3, EXP)
