ENGL 2085 - Survey of African American Literature I A survey of African American literature from its early origins to the turn of the 20th century. Course provides a genealogy of the literature and includes study of different literary genres and rhetorical strategies while also addressing the historical, cultural, and social contexts in which they were created. Required of all English majors. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1010 -ENGL 1020 or ENGL 1023H -ENGL 2011H (3)
