PHCY 4830 - Drug-Induced Diseases Online/Hybrid Provides students with information on drug-induced disease states through online discussions, illustrations, and practice in patient-case scenarios. The student will learn how specific drugs may cause injury to a patient in the presence of predisposing risk factors. With an increased number of drug entities and accelerated FDA drug approvals, recent medical advances have resulted in products with both promise and risk. Simultaneously, established drug entities often exert predictable yet unnecessary harm to patients when susceptibility and therapeutic options are not recognized by health providers. This course should provide the background for students to recognize drugs that cause diseases and the patient populations most at risk. This information is intended for application on student rotations, pharmacy residencies, or future practice as a knowledgeable, competent pharmacist. Prerequisites: PCLN 4775 , PCLN 4776 , PCLN 4777 , and PCLN 4778
